Now the Masquerades have come out. Lets Dance!

Finally, the end of all the waiting game has come. The biggest Masquerade has come out to the Village Square to join those i might call the lesser ones. Why do i call them "lesser"? Well, lets face it, among all of them, we know who we all like.....primarily because he has a lesser stained outfit, dont you think so?

From previous dances, we have seen other masquerades, both small and great wrestle it out on the same village square, swaying to the familiar beats of thier drum beaters or to the tune and the same rhythm of other dancers. Some of this great dancers made thier debut on the sandy square, not neccesarily to win the competition, but to gain the approval of the onlookers and hope that, at least, by virtue of thier participation, some one will take notice and one day in the future, a greater applause will be accorded them when they come to dance again in the same square.

In the last four years, and even with the sorrow that has come with the loss of who many would have described as a slow but purposeful dancer, the village has undressed from its black covers of mourning and has opened the competition once again for a new dance. This time, with a new umpire.

Now, the Dance is about to begin, the old masquerades who in previous attempts considered themselves as youth and inexperienced, have dusted thier costumes to dance again; considering themselves less than naive in the art of dancing the Big Dance. They hope, the onlookers and spectators of before who applauded thier bold but depressingly dismal participation will consider them with greater reviews and append a greater applause to their participation this time around.

It is customary in traditional settings to have only one masquerade from one Family House irrespective of the skill and style of the numerous masquerades from that family. However, there are no fears! For the rule shall remain! One dancer only! Ha! But the matter is not about how many dancers or how good the dancer is, the matter is; Which dancer will get a greater applause?

The dance is coming soon, and the village is agog with excitement and preparation for the Mother of all Dances. Now the chief masquerades have come out, let everyone go and gather support for their Champion! Let us do it with dancing and celebration, let us do it without strife or war for a dance doesn't bring enmity.

Now, bring forth the incorruptible umpire! Let the umpire be fair and noble! Let the dance begin!
