THE CHURCH I WISH FOR
For the Church of Christ, I wish.
I wish Pastors and Priests understand that the Church belongs to Jesus and not to them, the Church is a bride of Christ, not an private property of the Pastor, Priest or Church Board
I just wish we had more churches teach morality alongside salvation. There are many so-called Born Again Christians who are not changed internally. There are a lot of Christians who don't understand that Jesus called us to live righteous lives which is not too far off from the concept of morality. I wish the Church focused on Discipline, Love, Honor and Respect even more than they talk about prosperity and Destroying Enemies.
I wish the Church invests in training its pastors and leaders on how to lead like shepherds should. Shepherding is not a job, its a skill. Its about talking less, caring more and leading strong.
I wish Church members recognise that Pastors and Priests have private lives, they are human and are prone to mistakes. They need more help than others do, overly praising them and pressuring them isn't doing then any good.
I wish the Church would focus its members on understanding and following Jesus rather than the attention we give to fighting evil and binding the devil.
I wish the church taught its members the truth about the Holy Spirit and his roles as Adviser and Counsel, Teacher and Friend rather than the falsehood they spread that He is a Deadly Fire used to kill enemies.
I wish the Church would teach its members how to be accepting, accommodating, loving and caring to people of all races and creed rather than the divisive and denomination-based lifestyle we are being indoctrinated to follow and the hate we are brewing against chiefly other members of Christ's Body.
I wish the Church will stop being hypocritical and pretentious, behaving as though they are not part of the general society.
I wish the Church would return to what it was in the New Testament where members are required to be responsible in and out of church in content and character. Where Pastors and Priests can call members to order when they stray, why would we have fraudulent elected officials who do nothing to bring development or wife beaters as members of the Church? I wish the Church can demand that its members be useful contributors to society.
I wish the Church could teach its members Economic and Financial Practice-based knowledge in line with biblical truths so the congregation can apply wisdom and skill to their daily lives. Its only when the correct application of knowledge is applied that prosperity becomes unavoidable. The Church should educate its members on the Business Side of life using Abraham, Job, Issac and others as examples. If they grasp the understanding of Divine Prosperity and Business Opportunities, the current attack on tithing will stop!
I wish the Church will invest in the community, build roads, schools, hospitals, help destitute people, run Orphanages etc and let the community feel Jesus. In truth, some members of the Body of Christ are doing this and God will bless them continually.
I wish the church will stop seeing themselves as the Place of Perfection and rather the Home of Perfecting. The Church is a hospital for the sick, sick patients don't despise other sick patients. The Church is not supposed to be for the hale and hearty.
I wish the Church will teach about God and Jesus from the bible under the direction of the Holy Spirit and stop using the pulpit as a political soap box, the media is already giving us an earful.
I wish the Church produced Children of God; Ambassadors of Christ rather than staunch members of denominations. Last time I checked, there's only one God and only one way to him.
I wish the Church will focus on children, women and young people, they are being targeted more ferociously these days. Homosexuality, Lesbianism Beastiality, Peadophilia, Rape have no answer by the Church. We are turning people engaged in these acts away and branding them as Sinners instead of applying love with counsel to change them.
I wish the Church could clean up its act and wipe away the false prophets and fake pastors and unnecessary squabbles. I wish the Fathers of the Faith will act out their titles and truly behave like Fathers, not just to their members but to the Christian faith in general.
I wish the Church is more proactive than reactive. Stop the menace before it turns into a tragedy.
I wish my wishes were much more than wishes, that they become reality.
I wish.
